One of the important quality standards for meltblown cloth, filtration efficiency is a key indicator for the quality evaluation of masks. Therefore, referring to relevant standards, we recommend that the filtration efficiency of non-woven masks should not be less than 95%, and the filtration efficiency of particles should not be less than 30% for non-oily particles.

The size of the influence that people wear masks to hinder breathing. Therefore, the breathing resistance of the mask non-woven fabric determines the breathing comfort when wearing the mask. The index we recommend here is that the inhalation resistance should be ≤350Pa and the expiration resistance should be ≤250Pa.

Here we recommend testing items mainly for initial contamination bacteria, pathogenic pyogenic bacteria, Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, coliforms, total bacterial colonies, total fungal colonies, residual ethylene oxide, etc.

Medical masks are usually made of one or more layers of non-woven fabrics. The main production processes include meltblown, spunbond, hot air or needle punching. They are equivalent to liquid resistance, particulate filtration and bacteria. They are a type of textile used for medical protection. The medical mask is composed of a mask face and a tension band. The mask is divided into three layers: inner layer, middle layer and outer layer. The inner layer is made of skin-friendly materials (ordinary sanitary gauze or non-woven fabric), the middle layer is made of an isolation filter layer (ultra-fine polypropylene fiber meltblown material layer), and the outer layer is made of special materials with an antibacterial layer (non woven fabric or ultra-thin polypropylene meltblown material layer).

The meltblown cloth is mainly made of polypropylene, and the fiber diameter can reach 1-5 microns. These ultra-fine fibers with a unique capillary structure increase the number and surface area of fibers per unit area, so the meltblown cloth has good filtration, shielding, heat insulation and oil absorption properties. It can be used in air, liquid filter materials, isolation materials, absorbing materials, mask materials, thermal conductive materials, oil absorbing materials and wipes. The main raw material is polypropylene. Except for polyurethane, polylactic acid fibers have a diameter of 1 to 5 microns and have a unique capillary structure, which is also called melt blown non-woven fabric.
